WindRiver is the developer that last spring proposed to construct a floodwall along the reach of its 1100-foot creekside property. After numerous complaints from flood-damaged Palo Altans, among others, WindRiver withdrew its development plan last fall, pledging to submit a redesigned project responsive to the concerns of its neighbors.
View a copy of the WindRiver press release issued 1/29/99, announcing the redesigned project. Of particular interest is WindRiver's promise of a "greatly expanded hydrology study of the creek . . . as part of a new Supplemental EIR." This time their flood diversion design calls for a "berm" rather than a "wall."
